Hi Hugh,

The nearest thing we have to this is, if the Text zone is shown, you can
press 'T' while playing and this will insert a text block at the playing
point. But it will be empty until you click on it to edit it.

It's difficult to see a more direct way. We can't really have it that
every time you press a key, it creates a text block with a letter in it!
